I am a Persian-American artist. I am currently working on my autobiography. I received formal training in watercolors at age 16, in my home country of Iran. I work with acrylics and watercolors to create surreal and abstract forms, landscapes, and Persian calligraphy.

City of Woodstock's Christmas Card features original watercolor art by Sanaz Dillard
This year, the City of Woodstock's official Christmas card features original artwork inspired by the annual tree lighting that takes place during the Christmas Jubilee and Parade of Lights. Persian-American artist Sanaz Mousavi Dillard created two watercolor paintings, one featuring the gazebo in the Park at City Center decked out in holiday decorations and another featuring Woodstock's beautifully-lighted, thirty-foot Christmas tree shimmering beneath a peaceful full moon.

Come join my artistic journey as I explore themes of mysticism, love, dreams, and philosophy as influenced by teachings and love of Jesus for love and his dedication to the path of love, great Persian thinkers (Rumi, Hafiz), Greek philosophers, Stoics (Marcus Aurelius), and modern sages (Espinoza, Martin Buber, Meher Baba, Simone Weil, Dr. Ghomshei) and artists (Sohrab Sepehri, Marc Chagall, Kayhan Kalhor, Yayoi Kusama, Howard Finster).

I love all forms of art, but some of my favorite styles are Impressionism, Surrealism, the Hudson River School, and spiritual art.
